I realize that I have been absent for a really long while. Having moved on to Facebook, and messengers it seems that I have severely neglected my lj.

But does that mean random people have to SPAM my LJ? I mean really!

Subject:They Say That Life Is Your Oyster... and STAR TREK
Mood: ecstatic

If that is the case then mine is spoiled!

That is the beginning of an interesting little tidbit I wrote of the top of my head a week or so ago. It was a rather interesting exercise, I don't know what I will do with it yet. But it was amusing to write. First person is something new to me haha...

As you can prolly tell from my brand spanking new icon I saw STAR TREK and the movie was the best STAR TREK movie I have seen since the very first TNG (ST: The Next Generation) movie Generations. Which is quite a thing to say for me. I have been a fan, a Trekkie if you will, since I was a child. Quite frankly I wanted to be Deanna Troi because she was so beautiful and by far my favorite character lol. Being a fan I watched the Trek movies and enjoyed them. But none so much as this "reboot" of series itself by J.J. Abrams.

Jam-packed with a whole new cast, led by Chris Pine as the young (and handsome) James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto of Heroes fame as the venerable Spock and Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy the movie had promise from the start. I went in to the theater with an open mind. Wanting to see what they had done and what kind of story they had to tell and was blown away from the start.

When they said reboot they really did mean reboot. They blew the series history to smithereens from the get go and the result was a stunning, well written movie that has me eager for more. I wasn't expecting the story they had to tell and by the end I could say that the I was happy that they did do what they did. The reinvented the series, took it back to the beginning and in the process rejuvenated the series in the best way possible.

I truly look forward to more as I am sure there are more planned. This is one rebooted series I am eager to follow

Subject:Well Isn't That Special?
Mood: ... The Phoenix Has Landed ...

It's been a while since I last updated on here. I meant to do it a while ago but you know how life gets sometimes.

Life at home is much the same... only I finally got a TV for my room. YAY! I don't have to schlep outside to watch TV and don't have to move when my brother gets home. It is quite a change. My room is still a work in progress but I have most of it in place. Now all I need is a new bed and to get the shit my brother stores in here out. As long as they use this room as a catch-all the longer I will keep it looking semi-nice which I think drives my mother nuts. She wants it pristine and neat... I'll keep it pristine and neat when I figure it deserves to be that way. Besides I turned 26 a month a go... this is my room and I can do whatever the heck I want with it so NYAH.

Life at work is well sort of improving. They cut my hours drastically in February since it was slow and boy was that painful. Around that time, as luck would have it, things gradually started to get busier. And March was an improvement over February and April an improvement on that. My store is thisclose to making sales plan for the first time in over a year. This makes me VERY VERY happy. We close out the month tomorrow and I hope that we can tack on an additional $400 to the $4200 we need to do tomorrow in order to make the month. If last week was any indication (and I hope it is lol) Saturday should be a busy day. Last week I personally did $2200 in sales. If we make plan for the month I shall get that much-needed bonus... and I deserve it. I've been busy busting my ass this month and practically since February. I have had two (yes, TWO) ten hour shifts and I have two more next week. Hell yeah I deserve this bonus haha.

In other news I have met someone. Well... sort of lol. His name is Nigel and he lives in Australia. I met him on Facebook. He is a sweetheart in every way and... well, I like him a lot. Well... that goes without saying hahaha. He is a couple years younger than me and actually lives in Perth. We've been text messaging and he keeps in contact with me every day... except for the weekends when he goes "offline" in order to ready himself for another week. Funny thing is, even with this going "offline" he still manages to check in on me for a bit. How sweet is that? I never thought I'd meet a guy as attentive as he is and the funny thing is, I never knew what I missing until I met him. Most guys I never got the feeling what I said really mattered to them. It was like they were there but not really. But with Nigel? I feel like he actually is listening and he is taking it in. I feel as if he gets me like no other man I ever had met before. What is more, I feel like he cares about me and what I have to say and that blows me away. Amazed me really.

When I told my friend Raven about this I only half-seriously asked, "is that sad?"

To which she replied, "nope," but soon amended, "well yes that it amazes you that someone cares. Just shows what twats you've known before..." I cracked up laughing. Goes to show you don't it?

Well, that is snapshot of my life in the first four months of the year. It's May now, can you believe it? In another 30 days it'll be midway through 2009. Summer will be upon us and I will celebrate my fourth anniversary at Sunglass Hut. Blows the mind it does hehe.

I hope this elongated entry is enough to make up for four months of silence. I hope you all are doing well.

Until next time.

She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.

Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.

Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.

Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl.

And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

Keep reading... they get better!!!

"Cash, check or charge?"" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.

As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.

"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.

"No," she replied, "but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally."

I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider.

A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles.

The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.

He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife.

She directs him down the correct aisle.

A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter.

She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife?"

He answers, "You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo much cheaper. So, I figure if I have to roll my own... so does she."

(I figure this guy is the one on the milk carton!)

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.

An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position.

As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?"

"Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day, 30,000 to a man's 15,000.

The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men..."

The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time."

The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!"

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, "You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee."

The husband said, "You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee."

Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says ... "HEBREWS"

The Silent Treatment

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment.

Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM."

He left it where he knew she would find it.

The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough
draft before the masterpiece...

Subject:Keith Olbermann on Proposition 8
Mood: grateful

Keith Olbermann is by far one of the greatest voices of our time. Never before have I come across someone with such compassion and such understanding like the man in this video I am sharing.

To me Keith Olbermann represents all the good things about the people of the world today. He is someone who really wants to affect change and bring people together, if not to come together, but to at least understand where the other person is coming from. For that I have great respect for him.

Thank you Keith Olbermann for being the voice of reason in a time where it is sorely lacking.

Ask Raven and she'll tell you that I have had quite a month behind me. I lost a new found friend to reasons that I am still unsure about and in the mean time some old ones found me again. I should have been devastated about the loss of a friend I had come to care about so deeply and even more shocked that these so called "friends" of mine want to reconnect.

About the former, I wasn't at all upset. For the first time when I should have been hurt I was okay. I wasn't upset and I can honestly say now that even though it ended, I am happy that for that short time he was in my life. When it happened I was content, I was serene. Two things I never thought I would be. Still am... got a swift kick from the Logic Fairie as well. I still don't know where that came from...

About the latter, I think I am pretty much set on those two who want to be friends again. I spent the day with them today. And in the time we have not talked I see that they have pretty much remained the same. And I cannot help but think that somehow they are hoping to recapture the good old days. But for me that ship has sailed... so many things have changed for me... I am not the same person I was back then. And to be honest I don't wanna be that person anymore. I am happier, I have grown so much and I thank God for all the things I have learned since then, some were hard lessons and I may have come out scathed in quite a few. But it made me the person that I am today and I am happy being the way I am now.

I guess this is why people say if they could do anything over again, why there are people who say that they wouldn't change a thing. It is in each and every one of those mistakes, all of those stumbles and falls that you learn about yourself. They make you who you are now.

I guess seeing them today not having grown makes me thankful that I have. It makes me see that I have come so far and that there really is no way back. And that's okay.

Ooh look at me waxing philosophical haha...

Anyway I hope this entry finds you all well. It's been a while since I actually posted something of value on here. I hope that this was a welcome change for you all.

Lots of Love,

I am so ready for my vacation.

I work today and tomorrow and then I am OFF for a week. Better yet I am on PTO which means my company is paying me to sit on my ass and not work. :D

That makes me seriously happy.

I will use my free time to sit down and (finally) write more of HEAVEN as well as continuing the rewrite of MEASURE OF A MAN into LOVE LIKE THIS, which, incidentally, has taken on a whole new light with the addition of a connection with "The Phantom of the Opera."

It's been an interesting ride to say the least thanks to Raven hehe.

I am so ready to write.

Thank you Michael Muse.

Lots of Love,
